our community impact
At Waterstruck, we believe a business should function like a healthy ecosystem: restorative, interconnected, and deeply rooted in its place. We don’t view "giving back" as an afterthought; we view it as the core architecture of how we work.
By applying principles of sustainable business design, we ensure that our success directly fuels the health of our neighbors, the land, and the Maine economy.
01. community care and equity
Designing for access and local resilience.
We believe the restorative power of wellness should be a bridge, not a luxury. Our social impact is built into our calendar and our margins to ensure we are a resource for all.
Radical Accessibility: We donate 5% of our total sessions annually to the community. This includes private sessions and retreats for local nonprofits, low-to-no-cost experiences for communities facing barriers to wellness, and donated gifts for local fundraisers.
The 5% Pledge: Every quarter, we commit 5% of all shop and snack bar sales to a specific local organization.
Current Focus (Q1 2026): The Maine Solidarity Fund.
Amplifying Local Voices: We serve as a gallery for Maine’s creative community, proudly displaying and supporting local artists within our space.
02. environmental Stewardship
Regenerative practices for a wilder world.
Our footprint is small by design. We look to the land first, choosing materials and energy sources that honor our home.
Collaborative Forestry: All of our wood that stokes our saunas is sourced directly from our land, and is processed by us. We work under a comprehensive Forest Management Plan in collaboration with a local forester to ensure our harvest promotes long-term forest health and ecosystem biodiversity.
The Beauty of Reuse: We believe the most sustainable materials are those that already exist. From the sauna porch—crafted with reclaimed wood from the original barn that stood on this land—to our pool fence, supported by 100-year-old telephone poles repurposed as cedar posts, we choose materials that honor their history while protecting our future.
Renewable Energy: A majority of our electricity is sourced from renewable sources, ensuring that your experience here is powered by the future, not the past.
03. investing in maine
Nurturing the cultural and natural ecosystems we call home.
We believe the most effective marketing is an investment in the culture, safety, and future of our home. We reject traditional, extractive advertising in favor of a community-first model: the majority of our marketing budget is spent on local sponsorships and community programming.
